ELM Group – Hospital transport
The NHS has limited resources and the patient transport service provides non-emergency transport just for people who have certain medical needs – it is not for everyone.
The expectation remains that patients will make their own transport arrangements where they can and that this service is only for those whose medical need prevents them from using private or public transport. The patient transport service will not be provided for social or financial reasons.
To request transport, call the Patient Transport Clinical Assessment and Advice Centre on 0845 266 9662 Monday – Friday 8:00 – 18.30 and Saturday 8:00 – 12 Noon.
Please have details of your GP surgery and hospital clinic appointment details to hand.
If you are not eligible for transport you will be offered advice on alternative options.
You can make a booking up to 48 hours in advance of your appointment.
